#135: Weekly Coaching & Audition Recap

Welcome to Friday! We will be reviewing auditions, coachings, shows I saw and ROLE PREP! 

(side note… i’m thinking of reworking this day… let me know if there is something interesting you’d like me to cover instead)

AUDITIONS

This week I only had the one I mentioned for Thursdays blog. I have my eye on a callback for a show out in CA that I sent a tape for a few weeks ago. I think they are favoring local actors but I still had a solid audition. I also have to tape for a show directed by someone i’ve worked with before which would be AMAZING - so… you know what im going to say… we’ll see!

COACHINGS

I had a wild week of catching up with college prep students. My students are really starting to have their “live” auditions and it is so exciting. We had a few NYU auditions where they are SUPER chatty. Asking a million questions haha. The next few weeks are pivotal as we have both NY and Chicago Unifieds plus a lot of local theatre competitions so students are feeling a bit spread thin but if you are about to start you live auditions… ONE AT A TIME. Don’t worry about something you have in 2 weeks. Only focus on the next audition. ONE AT A TIME. 

SHOWS I SAW

NONE! HAHA! But my best friend and I put together our February show calendar so I’ll be back soon. Honestly, my weekends are CRAZY the next month so I’m not seeing much til then. But i’m also about to get my Rising Star Awards assignments so I’m going to have a ton to recap once mid-february hits.
